The Lambert Puppet Theatre
''WOAH! I'VE BEEN WORKING IN A PUPPET THEATRE!!'' Was the line I lead with meeting everyone and anyone in the run up to my trip to Milan.
It was The Lambert Puppet Theatre, one of the coolest, most magical-est places I've ever been. I was beyond delighted when Jason Lambert agreed to have me down for a few days work, days before the opening of their Christmas show 'Aladdin'.
Earlier this year the theatre was struck by an arson attack just months before 'Aladdin' was due premiere. Re-painting puppets, spray painting sharks and gluing spooky spiders are just some of the tasks I had to enjoy.
At any given moment anything bizzare could happen in and around the theatre. Sound testing the cackling laughs of 'The Baddie', blarring through the hallways to puppeteers calling out for the whereabouts of 'The Emperors' hands. Things that no one could predict.
There's no end to the amount of randomness that could happen in a short days work there. Everywhere you look there's something incredible to see, boxes of big hairy spiders, tiny hands drying on a rack, a giant Octopus in a bag?! Anything!
See the magic for yourself, Aladdin opened on the 14th November and runs until the 31st of January!
