Directed by Ben Wheatley, Free Fire happens over one night in one building- a warehouse in Boston Massachusetts in 1978 with ridiculous moustaches and oversized lapels. An IRA gang and a South African meet in the middle with some mediators to discuss a guns for cash deal. When two members of opposing gangs realise they have unfinished beef, shots start firing. The 12 way Tarantino style shoot out is riddled with quotable lines and a great cast, Cillian Murphy, Jack Raynor, Brie Larson and Sharlto Copley. With so many rounds being fired it’s sometimes hard to ‘‘Remember which side I’m on’’. It’s the longest, most ungraceful, misfortunate shoot outs I’ve ever seen but it has plenty of humour to keep you interested throughout.
Vibe: Tarantino-y style funny flick you could watch with some mates and crack out some quotes.
