First up in the #ModelLife series is Brazilian nut and food enthusiast Paloma Dionizio.
We took a walk on the streets near her apartment and had a chat about leaving her country for the first time and starting her modelling career in Milan.
"I've been modelling for two years, about two years. Its my first trip. I'm so excited because I'm thinking Milan is for me. I like Milan because its like Sao Paulo, Brazil. I dunno, it's like me, it's like my family, like my country. It's funny."
"For Brazilian girls it's so difficult to be a model because all the things are so expensive. Visa's are so hard to take but if you want it a lot you can get it. It's only this. It's more difficult for me because other countries don't have problems with customs and visa's."
"My favorite thing about modelling is photo's. Photo's are good because it's not you, its a different face, different poses. I love it. I don't know what I hate about it, I love it all. I think I like doing showroom the least because it's always in the same place, doing nothing waiting for clients, it's like this!"
Paloma is optimistic about her future in modelling. She has her doubts but she's happy to trust her agency to choose her next destination for her.
"I want to be myself, and be like a model, a Brazilian model and this is my dream. It's so amazing! After Milan I want to go to Paris but it will probably be Istanbul. But you know? I hate Istanbul, I don't know why, I'm afraid to go there. It could be a dangerous city. I don't know, I don't like it but I'll go"
"I think in modelling you have to have a lot of faith, a lot of courage and be yourself."
Paloma is signed with Star System, Base agency Brazil and Nologo Milan and has recently been working with Alexander McQueen.
