Bronte Telitha Coates
I first met Bronte very briefly on her first trip to Milan over the Summer. Since then she's been shooting up a storm of editorials for magazines like, SCHON!, i-D and Novembre Magazine to name but a few. I caught up with the Missoni girl on a late Winters evening in Milan to find out what her Model Life is all about.
'I've been in Milan for six weeks, this time. It's definitely better than my Summer trip here. Yeah, I like Milan. Last time it was too hot! Winter clothes in the 40 degree heat, not a massive fan! Going to castings in the 40 degree heat?! I don't even wanna think about it to be honest. Shoot's were the worst, wearing all those coats!'
'I like it here though, I think it's quite chilled, actually, I like it. I like meeting new people, I like getting good pictures, I like seeing the pictures once they're published, it's just exciting.'
Casting life? 'I'm not as nervous as I was. It's a bit long, a bit slow, you know, a lot of competition! I'm not a massive fan of the competition, you know, you look at people and thing 'Oh my gosh, Oh no, Oh my god, I'm not gonna get it!' but, you know, that's life!'
'My least favorite thing about modelling is the pressure, you get agency pressure, you have to be quite strict with yourself, it's difficult but other than that it's all good'.
Do you ever have problems maintaining your weight? 'All the time!! My weight is up and down and up and down, up and down. I know it's down to me really, but it's difficult, you know I wasn't raised on salads. Definitely not raised on it!'
What does your future in modelling look like? 'I think I'm gonna give it a go, see what happens in the next year or two and then if it takes off that's great and if it doesn't then I'll still be in the fashion industry someway, I hope!'
